Born from imperfection, WISDOM is a reminder that nothing truly loses its purpose.

The piece began on a sheet of 100% cotton paper that arrived with a natural crease running through its centre, traditionally a flaw most artists would discard. Instead, I chose to keep it. That crease became the soul of the artwork.

As the portrait of an old man emerged, weathered, strong, and rich with life - the paper’s imperfection evolved into a metaphor:

even when something appears worn, bent or “past its prime,” it still carries immense value. It can still hold greatness.

The aged character in WISDOM reflects this truth.

His lines, like the crease in the paper, tell a story of resilience, usefulness, and the beauty of experience.

A piece created not despite the flaw but because of it.

A visual reminder that age, history, and imperfections are not something to hide… but something that gives us depth, meaning, and purpose.
